A great number of people the world over now have flat screen TV’s or home entertainment systems in HiDef...The Rocker will be the first sitcom to exploit this new phenomenon to its fullest.
Based on the busy and humorous life of Kenney Jones, drummer with the Small Faces, the Faces (with Rod Stewart), the Who (after Keith Moon), and the Law (with Paul Rodgers), The Rocker is an upmarket Cheers of Surrey/Home Improvement mix (but unlike ‘Tim,’ The Rocker brings his prodigious skills and capability to every situation only to be thwarted by external forces beyond his control) with an East Enders-style character spread.
The Rocker is a sitcom soap-opera that has everything---characters based on real people: the rich and famous; the not rich and famous, and the delightfully eccentric---beautiful interiors and exteriors with the possibility of filming at colorful countryside events like the Goodwood Revival, the South of England Show, the completely mad 12-hour lawnmower race held AT NIGHT (!!), and so many other fabulous and goofy events in the countryside and in London. Spoiled for choice.
Please see sample list below.
Chickens run amuck, pigs escape in the mud, ducks refuse to be caught, cows need milking, horses play up, dogs chase rabbits down burrows and get stuck, cats up trees, snakes in the grass...your general animal mayhem around the ‘farm.’
Weddings, wakes, anniversaries, birthday parties, Halloween, Valentines, Christmas, New Year’s, Bonfire night, polo matches, music nights, comedy nights, dances and magic nights held at the polo club organized by The Rocker’s beautiful wife (former model) provide plenty of humorous grist for conflict and things going wrong (and right!) indoors and out.
There’s always something that needs fixing at the 16th century club, and even more at The Rocker’s 11th century home...and all this taking place as he tries to keep everything afloat with several balls in the air at once, yet still be the perfect host for friends and customers at the club, while endlessly pursuing the reformation of his band (whose members live all over the world and one of whom is always in the news for one prank or other) for a sellout world tour that will solve all his money problems.
The Rocker is a solid family man---a father in the truest sense of the word---his large family comes first in everything. He has his own children’s charity and is always seeking ways to raise money for the children through his high-flying connections all over the world.
The Rocker chases chickens, splashes in the pond after ducks, milks cows, mends the plumbing, gets muddy and messy, then goes to parties, celebrations, and fund-raisers on huge yachts and at palatial estates via helicopter, limo, or private jet...a lifestyle that includes the whole nine yards...the good, the bad, the rich and the famous.
Always the optimist with a big heart...he giggles his way through life but doesn’t suffer fools. He’s a keen helicopter pilot and can also drive a Caterpillar, digger, horse box, earth mover, tractor, and pretty much handle anything thrown at him. He’s been there and done that, not afraid to get his hands dirty, and accessible to one and all.
The Rocker is a friend of royalty through their shared passion, polo.
Done right, The Rocker will have the rich and famous and even royal lining up to appear on the show.
The Rocker will give ‘reality tv’ a whole new meaning.
Jayne Jones is happy to be the series consultant and can provide countless colorful anecdotes based on some of the mad people who have frequented the club and the hilarious goings on that have occurred there over 15 years.
